Burundi – Murambi

From $16.99

Flavors shift quite a bit as the coffee cools, making it a fun one to take your time drinking. A backdrop of bittersweetness accented by top notes of dehydrated peach, rustic date, and blueberry.

Murambi is an impressive operation, a privately owned collection site in the Kiganda area near the Mubarazi river. The coffee processed at Murambi are from the surrounding hillside villages. Most of the farms are around 2000 meters above sea level and entirely planted in Bourbon. This natural (“dry process”) coffee has big fruit characteristics. The ground coffee smells of dried fruits and berries, along with a scent of baked goods, and a hint of rustic brown rice syrup. In the brewed coffee, top notes are built on a platform of unrefined sweetness, and dark cocoa. The profile shifts while the coffee cools, making it a fun one to take your time drinking.

We like this as a “tamed” African coffee. If you want to unleash the bean, try our Ethiopia!
