Guatemala – Huehuetenango

From $16.99

Delicious go-to coffee with notes of orange blossom, toasted vanilla and walnut.

This coffee comes from one of our local suppliers as a premier coffee from the famed Huhuetenango region of Guatemala! The name translates from the Nahautl as ‘place of the ancients’ or ‘place of the ancestors.’ This area has the highest non-volcanic mountains in Central America, and they are well-suited to grow coffee. This region is probably the most dependent and coffee as an export and there are some truly astonishing coffees produced here, most of the Bourbon, Catuai and Caturra varieties. This lot of coffees are harvested at 1,500 – 2,000m above sea level.

The dry grounds smell of a citrus fruit on top of a warm caramel and nutty base. The wet aroma enhances these characteristics and adds in subtlties of a toasted vanilla. It is a medium body coffee that has a refreshing finish. When I’m looking for a tasty coffee that isn’t exotic or overly complex, this is my go-to coffee.

If that sounds like you’re type of coffee and you want to try another thats slightly different, check out our Coast Rica!
